Why Us
Rimping Village is a great place to stay in Chiang Mai if you enjoy privacy, tranquillity and nature. Despite feeling like a world away, we are only a short 10 to 15-minute walk to the bustling Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, and a 25 to 30-minute walk to Thapae Gate at the Old Town.
There is plenty to see and do in the area and a good choice of cafes and restaurants to try including American, Vietnamese and Thai. The riverside is minutes away, where popular bars and live music entertain into the night. If you feel like a cosy night in, there is a handy international supermarket just down the street with imported products and wine.
We encourage everyone to read our reviews and discover why guests love to stay with us. We pride ourselves on our service and want all guests to be well informed of the area we stay and local amenities available. Our healthy and delicious cuisine is also a highlight as we endeavour to share our passion for local food with our guests.
Local Markets
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar
This is one of most popular night markets in Chiang Mai and opens every evening from 18.00 to 24.00 hrs. The market is spread in all directions and hard to define where it begins and ends but you can’t go wrong if you head for the intersection of Chang Clan Road and Loi Krro Road, about a 12-minute walk from Rimping Village. It offers a fabulous selection of handicrafts, shoes, luggage, DVDs, sunglasses, artwork, homeware, furniture and more.
Sunday Walking Street
This weekly night market is located in the heart of the Old Town and covers about one kilometre of the street from Thapae Gate towards Ratchadamnoen Road. The walking street is lined with vendors selling a wonderful array of handicrafts, souvenirs and accessories. The market is open from 16.00 to 22.00 hrs on Sundays only. We recommend a Tuk Tuk to visit this market, alternatively you can enjoy a 25 to 30-minute stroll.
Warorot Market
This is one of the best fresh markets that local people go to in Chiang Mai with an impressive display of fresh produce on the ground floor and cheap clothing and accessories on the second and third floors. Look out for the local snacks and northern style delicacies that you can try as you browse the large variety of vegetables, seafood, meats and more. The covered market open from 10.00 to 22.00 hrs is located between Chiang Moi and Kuang Men Roads, about a 20-minute walk from Rimping.
Where to Eat
Foodies will love the selection of restaurants that are easy to walk to from Rimping Village. For a great ambiance and relaxing views head to the Ping River and try American cuisine at The Duke’s or go to VT Namnueng for healthy Vietnamese dishes. There are a couple of cafes in the area such as Love at First Bite, and Khagee on the riverside where you can enjoy fresh coffee and bakery goods. There are several good Thai restaurants and some lively bars to discover as you walk along the riverside.
